Perched atop the Rimrocks — a dramatic 500-foot cliff overlooking the Yellowstone Valley — Billings Logan International Airport (BIL) commands one of the most striking settings of any airport in the American West. What began with a $5,000 investment by the Billings City Council in 1927 became Billings Municipal Airport, officially opening on May 29, 1928,  with Dick Logan named its first airport manager. When Logan died in 1957, the airport was renamed Billings Logan Field in his honor, and renamed again in 1971 to its present name, Billings Logan International Airport.

Air service entered the Billings market through Northwest Airlines in 1933, followed by Inland Airlines in 1934, and the airport grew steadily through major terminal expansions in 1958, 1972, and 1992. A new 120-foot air traffic control tower was completed in 2005, replacing the original tower that had guided generations of aircraft over Montana's big sky. Today, BIL handles roughly 241 aircraft operations per day and serves as the gateway to Yellowstone Country, the Beartooth Mountains, and the wide open spaces of the Northern Rockies.

This detailed model captures the tower's clean, contemporary design — a perfect centerpiece for any Montana, Western aviation, or Rocky Mountain airport display.

  • Faithful recreation of the Billings Logan International (BIL) control tower
  • Realistic detailing of the tower shaft and cab
  • Ideal for Montana, Western U.S., or Rocky Mountain airport layouts
